Our Executive Director, Matt Verdugo, had the privilege of meeting Mr. Simon Gronowski at the Dallas Holocaust Museum on April 19. During the Holocaust, a young Mr. Gronowski and his mother were deported to Auschwitz from Belgium via the Twentieth Deportation TrainPartisans intercepted the train in a rescue attempt, and Mr. Gronowski was able to escape with his mother’s help.  He returned to Belgium and managed to survive the Holocaust.  The Dallas Holocaust Museum is honoring Mr. Gronowski and other Upstanders, and commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, with their current core exhibit, “One Day During the Holocaust."
