From the Killing Fields to the White House
May 1, 2014
Location: Holocaust Museum Houston, 5401 Caroline St, Houston, TX 77004
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Sichan Siv, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and current THGC Commissioner, will speak about his experiences during the Cambodian Genocide. Captured and forced to
perform slave labor, Siv feared that he would be worked to death or killed. But he never abandoned hope or his improbable dream of freedom — a dream that liberated him, astonishingly, from his brutal
captors and ultimately led him to the United States, where he later became a senior White House aide.
