Prijedor: Lives from the Bosnian Genocide
January 13, 2014 to February 21, 2014
Location: McCormick Gallery, Midland College, 3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX 79705
Time: All Day
The exhibit, Prijedor: Lives from the Bosnian Genocide, tells the story of genocide in the Bosnian city of Prijedor between 1992 and 1995. Thirty-four display panels and a forty-minute video combine information from official sources, including the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, with original photographs and compelling testimony from genocide survivors now living in St. Louis, MO. The exhibit honors both the memory of the lives lost in the Prijedor genocide and the experiences of the survivors whose stories are told within the exhibit. The exhibit’s targeted audience is Texas residents, particularly college students, middle and high school students, and educators.
Midland College’s McCormick Gallery is the third of eight planned venues in Texas for this exhibit.
