As part of its mission to ensure that resources are available to educators regarding the Holocaust and other genocides, the Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission develops workshops and modules to train teachers in educating students about these topics. The THGC has held workshops in each of the state’s 20 Education Service Centers (ESCs) and has broadcast workshops digitally, making training available throughout Texas.
Texas Education Agency Partnership
The THGC is currently partnering with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to provide educators with courses and information about bullying, genocide, and the Holocaust, by developing workshop modules that will be made available through TEA’s Project Share education network.
Continuing Education Modules
Through partnership with the University of Texas at El Paso, the THGC has also developing modules for higher education professionals. These continuing education modules will help educators include required personal and community ethics content in core curriculum courses.
