Join the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education for their annual commemoration of the November Pogrom featuring Dr. Michael Geheran, Assistant Professor and Deputy Director of the Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies at the United States Military Academy. Dr. Geheran will tell the unique and often-overlooked stories of Jewish World War I veterans during the November Pogrom. Betrayed by the country they had so recently risked their lives to fight for, these individuals displayed extraordinary courage in the face of impossible circumstances.

Michael Geheran is Assistant Professor of History and Deputy Director of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Prior to coming to West Point, Geheran taught at the Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies at Boston University. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany from 2011-2012, and his research has been supported by grants from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Historical Institute, the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. His first book, Comrades Betrayed: Jewish World War I Veterans under Hitler was published by Cornell University Press in 2020.
